Setting up your smartbarsystems.com.au Email Address

Note: At the time of writing SmartBar Systems have not set up email boxes for their operators in the same way as SmartStock was doing. This is entirely their right to decide how to run their business, so it is very likely that the whole subject will be moot.

I recommend that you use Outlook in preference to Outlook Express, should you have a choice. If you have problems, or would like me to write up a tutorial for your email client of choice, please drop me a line.

The following instructions are taken from our hosting company's help pages. You will have been provided your Email Address, Mailbox Name and Password by email or over the phone. If you haven't received these, please let me know - don't forget to include your contact details.


Follow the instructions below to setup Microsoft Outlook Express to check EMail from a POP Mailbox. Other EMail programs will be the same in principle.

  1. Open Outlook Express.
  2. Click Tools on the toolbar and then click Accounts.
  3. Click on Add to add a new mail account.
  4. Type the name you wish to appear on the e-mails you send.

Click Next to continue.

  1. Enter your E-Mail address. eg: youraddress@smartbarsystems.com.au.

Click Next to continue.

  1. My incoming mail server should be set to POP3.
    Incoming mail should be set to: pop3.iserve.net.nz.
    Outgoing mail should be set to: [whatever your current ISP uses].*

* if you use Xtra to connect to the internet, then set outgoing mail to: smtp.xtra.co.nz. If you use Paradise.net to connect to the internet then use: smtp.paradise.net.nz. If you are unsure, then call your ISP and ask them for the name of their outgoing mail server.

Click Next to continue

  1. Type your Mailbox Name in the Account Name field,
    Type your Mailbox Password in the Password field.

Click Next to continue

Click Finish

Your E-Mail configuration is now complete.
